From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
